A Foreign Exchange Trader Needed a Change in Search Term Conversions

We initiated it.

The trader needed an update of its analytical architecture, integrating complex event processing with classic data warehouse infrastructure and the data mining sandboxes. Lingua Franca performed a classical SWOT analysis examining the business processes, the supporting information and communication technology as well as the data landscape which was quite fragmented, leading to an uncontrollable number of information silos. One of the exercises we did was a semantic analysis and its match with the conversion ratios. The anoymised diagram shows the search terms, and their relationships. The drill down of this schema shows the conversion probabilities for each word and the probability of two connected search terms. More than two connections did not show a significant increase or decrease of the conversion probability.

An ontology
Semantic network and each search term's probability of customer conversion

By proving that a global semantic network , i.e., an ontology of business concepts, implemented in all information silos, these silos would break and enable the organization to perform better in the market.

Masterdata architecture
Position a master data object in the operations and data landscape

For more information on this architecture, do not hesitate to contact us.

The next step was the introduction of master data management, starting with the organisation’s principal driver of revenue: “Party” i.e., customers, traders and employees. Needless to say this is an ongoing effort to attract and retain customers by synching the client's ontology with their world view.
