After working with the KNIME Analytics Platform for more than ten years, the Business Hub announcement started us thinking.
KNIME Business Hub was announced on November 15, 2022, during the KNIME Fall Summit held in Austin, Texas. This event marked the integration of KNIME Server capabilities into a new product aimed at providing organizations with a collaborative environment for data science and analytics.
When the KNIME Business Hub 1.10 was released on May 22, 2024 we were convinced this would change the landscape of data citizenship for good.
Four new features will make this product a winner
1.      Group Sync with SCIM: This feature allows for automatic synchronization of groups from an identity provider to Business Hub teams, simplifying user onboarding for IT.
2.      Job Instrumentation: An aggregated record of every job executed on Business Hub is maintained, including deleted jobs, with a default retention period of 30 days.
3.      Job Viewer: Users can inspect and debug jobs in a read-only mode directly from their browser, eliminating the need to access KNIME Analytics Platform.
4.      Scalable Data App Sharing: This feature enables the sharing of data apps at scale through special links that allow end users to run them without needing to log in.
Also the execution context was thoroughly redesigned for better administration, sharing and monitoring.
These enhancements are designed to improve the overall user experience and facilitate better management of analytics workflows within organizations. So we trained our analysts and certified them in the months afterward.
And why you should consider starting the free KNIME Analytics Platform?
Because it is easy to use, open source, uses visual programming and has an active community, is flexible and covers many of the data science techniques.
Project constraints: time and money: KNIME Analytics Platform can help you meet the time and budget constraints of data science projects, thanks to its free nature and rapid prototyping.
The learning curve: KNIME Analytics Platform can also help you better understand data science techniques, thanks to its intuitive graphical interface, its educational resources, its examples hub and its support forum (how much I relate to this aspect…).
The KNIME community: being part of the KNIME community, gives you access to tips, tricks, nodes, extensions, blogs, books and videos to share and enrich your data science knowledge.
Correctness and flexibility: Compared to other machine learning tools, KNIME Analytics Platform offers more control, transparency and customization of data analysis, allowing you to verify the correctness of the steps and experiment with different strategies.
Broad coverage of Data Science techniques: KNIME Analytics Platform integrates the main data wrangling and machine learning techniques, supported by other open source tools, such as Python, R, Keras and BIRT, it also allows data visualization in various modes, connection to different sources and integration with other reporting platforms (e.g. Power BI and Tableau).
Data Science in the enterprise: using KNIME Analytics Platform for companies, in the KNIME Business Hub version it allows collaboration, governance, distribution, automation and security for data science applications.
What are you waiting for to download and try it? No strings attached and once you establish the business value, consider testing the Business Hub for a few euros per month.
